MAPW letter to Auditor-General: NT radioactive waste dump contract transparency - October 2009

On 28 October 2009 MAPW President Dr Bill Williams wrote to the Auditor-General. Mr Ian McPhee, asking him to asses a contract between the Commonwealth, the Northern Land Council and the Muckaty Aboriginal Land Trust regarding assessment of Muckaty station as the site of a radioactive waste dump.

North Korea and the possibilty of a nuclear free world

28 MAY 2009. North Korea's nuclear tests brought the political world to a halt and caused concerns about the possession and complete abolition of nuclear arms. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has published a series of articles on the North Korean tests, including the possibility of a world without any nuclear weapons and what implications it would have if complete abolition were to occur.

28 MAY 2009. Former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser addresses the National Consultative Committee on Disarmament Conference in Wellington. Mr Fraser spoke about the continous threat of nuclear possession and noted that we cannot divide nuclear weapons into those for use and those for deterence.
