Global Women's March to Ban the Bomb

Event Date:

Location:
Queens Park, corner of George St and Elizabeth St, Brisbane

This year, more than 130 nations are ending the decades-long disarmament deadlock and negotiating a treaty to ban nuclear weapons. The new ban will set a new global standard, placing nuclear weapons on the same legal footing as chemical and biological weapons, landmines and cluster munitions.

The Australian Government is boycotting this historic negotiating conference; choosing instead to side with the bomb and those who wield these weapons of mass destruction.

JOIN US ON THE STREETS TO DEMAND A GOOD TREATY!

The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPFi) and our coalition are hitting the streets around the world to celebrate and also demand a good treaty that prohibits these weapons of mass destruction once and for all!

The Women’s March to Ban the Bomb is a women-led initiative; inclusive of all genders, sexualities, races, ages, faiths, backgrounds and political affiliations.

IN BRISBANE, the campaign is led by WILPFi, Just Peace, Friends of the Earth and Believing Women for a Culture of Peace.
