An MAPW media release issued on the day of the Oz Minerals Annual General Meeting slams uranium miner Toro Energy over junk science, which could put workers at increased risk. Toro Energy is 40% owned by Oz Minerals. Toro plans to mine uranium at Wiluna in WA.

The film Into Eternity, which explores the political, philosophical and ethical problems raised by how to store nuclear waste will be shown as part of the 2011 Environmental Film Festival. It will be screened along with Leonid's story, an animation about a man caught up in the Chernobyl disaster.
